Want a good fantasy romance that is dark but not TOO dark? This one had me glued. The main characters are all broken in their own ways and come together to heal each other. They team together like a true pack and I loved every page!

Spice - 8

Character Development - 8

Easy Read or Deep Read? This was a good in-between. Not as deep as ACOTAR or Blood and Ash, but had more depth than your simple Hallmark style romance novel.

Romance -8

Advertised Book Description:

Two years ago, I lived a hellish life where happily ever afters happened to everyone else,

never me. Until he came.

He was an alpha wolf shifter, rich, the most handsome man I’d ever seen in my life…and a monster a million times worse than the past I left behind.

Years of abuse finally break me, but when I least expect it, I’m impossibly free when I should be dead.

Keep running, Saige, I tell myself. Maybe then you’ll find a safe place to hide.

I never expect to run into three men with dark secrets, shadowed eyes, and damaged souls. With them I can almost believe they will protect me from a past that continues to hunt me.

With them, maybe I’ll be safe. Recommended for readers 18+

My Review:

Every time I start a new book, I find myself drawn into the characters and never wanting the book to end. With this series, I felt like I had a good amount of time with all of the characters without it being too drawn out. The series was solid!

Saige had good parents until her mom passed away from cancer and her dad found himself lost in the bottle. His alcohol addiction has him turning into an abusive ass but she bides her time until she can move out. On her 18th birthday, her dad shows up at the diner she works at and makes a scene. She's laying on the ground from his backhand, when the most beautiful man comes in to save the day. She's young and somewhat naïve, so she goes with him when he says she's his soulmate. Once Rylan has her under his thumb, he introduces her to the world of shifters, tells her she's his mate, and tries to change her. After he realizes she can't be turned, he still keeps control of her out of obsession, but turns into a monster. Saige endures being passed around the pack for sex, and spends the rest of the time being beaten or chained to Rylan's bedroom wall. Her scars are too numerous to count, but she finds a way to run away.

After meeting the Hounds, a group of 3 damaged men who own a bar, she slowly works her way into their hearts. One of the Hounds is harder to love than the others, but you slowly find yourself loving them all! With their help, along with the help of a surprise character, Saige finds the justice she needs and deserves.

The Negatives:

The end gave great closure, but also ended a little EXTRA on the fantasy side of things. I almost wish it had stayed with only shifters, but it doesn't change the fact that the books were really good. The overall series is still worth reading and I loved the characters enough to hope there will someday be a spinoff holiday finisher or something!

ENJOY READERS!
