Advertised Book Description:
Ladies, you’ve never had a first date quite like this.
He’s a billionaire.
Desperately handsome.
Wildly charismatic.
In fact, a certain article of clothing of mine has gotten quite damp.
Except…
It’s not the good kind of damp.
In fact, I’m suddenly very, very wet.
Oh no.
I’ve left out something important.
I’m nine months pregnant.
Don’t ask about the father.
I’d rather forget.
But I’m sitting in the fanciest restaurant you can imagine.
Opposite the man of my dreams.
It’s our first time alone together.
The start of something spectacular.
And…
My water just broke.

My Review:
This is one of those sweet, lightly dramatic Hallmark style stories. It's about Havannah, a 27 year old woman who is unsure of her path in life, and makes a few mistakes along the way. She hits a wild streak, ends up pregnant after a one night stand, and decides she's going to figure it out on her own one day at a time, with the help of her parents and sister. Donovan is a billionaire investor that invests and gives advice in Havannah's family's deli (that's a mouth full!). Her parents own the Tasty Pickle, while her and her sister started the Tasty Mango together. Donovan asks Havannah out on a date knowing she's pregnant. He's smitten by her from the get go and takes her out to dinner. She's 9 months pregnant at the time of the date, and her water ends up breaking before even getting their main dish. He takes her to the hospital, wants to stay, but questions himself. Havannah's 100% interested in Donovan, but doesn't understand how he could have any interest in someone as basic as her. So he leaves the hospital, stays in a hotel that night, then convinces himself to go back the next morning to bring her flowers and simply check on her. However, Havannah's in labor still. Donovan gets roped into being present for the birth, holding Havannah's hand through it all. Their relationship blossoms throughout the book and they start to understand each other on a deeper level on their trip to Europe for a family friend's wedding. The drama is low in this rom com novel, but it's still enough to keep you on your toes!
Main Dramas:
The trip to Europe, Donovan's job taking him away a lot, Havannah trying to figure out her son's biological father, navigating a co-parenting relationship, and clearing up confusion between her and Donovan thanks to social media causing drama in their relationship.
The negatives of the book for me are few and far between. It's an easy read for when you need something light. The spicy scenes are written okay, but lack the necessary words to pull it together. They'll still get you a little flushed, but it almost felt like the author was uncomfortable writing them and didn't walk us through all the way. The relationship between them, though, was worth reading and I really enjoyed the book as a whole!
ENJOY READERS!
